Did you know that Orthodox churches celebrate Easter this Sunday? For example Easter in 2016 in Russia comes on 1of May. It has story beginning from 10th century with the mean of the day of the resurrection of Christ. Traditionally in Russia one day before this holiday all people go to churches for the night services and organize religious processions around them. By that time they cook cake “kulich”(symbolising the body of the Christ) and colour the eggs with red colours (nowdays fantasy of colouring is much more wider). After special preparation goes – they make this food Saint, by visiting the church and making the priest (father) drop saint water on it with all good prays.
In the morning they visit their neigbours, friends and relatives to congratulate them with this holiday and giving away eggs and “kulich” making kind of exchange of food and good vibes. Have a good day and enjoy Easter!
